    With offices both in Lima and Cusco as well as regional representatives all over South America it would be an almost impossible task to present everyone. Nonetheless, following you can meet some of our key people making SATO the highly reputable organization it is.

    Vanessa; born and raised in Cusco Peru, she studied Tourism both in Peru and abroad and is very much in touch with the tourist industry in South America and beyond. Her years of experience in the hotel industry make her an expert in qualifying the hotels we work with and this is the kind of expertise our passengers appreciate. She is our personal contact with all hotels and operators and an important resource when it comes to the details of your trip. And we all know that the difference often lies in the details.
    Stephen; born and raised in Ireland, Stephen is our in-house IT specialist and web-designer. He has lived and worked in several South American countries where he was in charge of elaborating multiple tourism websites and initiatives for a range of international companies. Nowadays he decided call Peru home and to put his years of experience in web design & South American tourism to use for the SATO website family.
    Stanley; native from the highlands between Cusco and Puno, Stanley is our unmissable local Cusco contact making sure that every operation runs smooth and flawless and that all reservations and bookings have been made and double checked. He is the one behind the scene making sure that our passengers feel guided and assisted all throughout their trip with us.
    Boris; born and raised in the Sacred Valley of the Incas Boris is for most of our travelers their main contact once they get to Cusco. A professional in tourism with more than a decade of experience Boris is the man you want to speak to if you would need any assistance during your time in Peru. Boris is guaranteed to go the extra mile to make sure your expectations are being met.
    Yesenia; also from Cusco, Yesenia is the person that makes sure that our Cusco offices runs as a Swiss clock. Guide and driver evaluations, new services, specialty operators and the administration of these is what’s on her plate daily. This is the reason why she truly knows the ins and outs of all the details organizing an unforgettable trip involves.
    Seppe; originally from Belgium but thriving in South America for more than a decade, Seppe is our sales manager. Looking at the process from a traveler’s perspective, he makes sure that the planning process is as impeccable and flawless as the actual travel services themselves. Making sure that all travel consultants provide a punctual, personal and detailed service; providing the travel consultants with continuous training and guidance as well as selecting and evaluating the hotels we work with are all part of his job description.

Being a semiprofessional blogger he wandered the continent for years providing his followers with great background and in depth travel information about the many destinations this continent has to offer.     Paula; born and raised in Ireland she decided to embark on a long journey several years ago to see what the world has to offer.   • Booking Process

    We at SATO are dedicated to providing you with a personalized vacation based on the personal preferences and requirements of our clients. In order to do so we apply the following booking process;

    1. Contact us;
    You can contact us by filling out the contact form you can find on any of our websites. Fill out the form with your name, email and phone number if you would prefer to speak to one of our travel consultants. In the comment box you can leave behind any important information for your trip. You can also contact us through our USA/Canada toll free number. This number can be reached from Monday to Friday from 9.00am till 7.00pm and on Saturday from 9.00am till 1.00pm. We are located in Peru GMT -5 hours. In case you would be looking for a last minute trip, please feel free to call us or leave behind a phone number as this gives us the chance to get an itinerary to you quicker. If you would not be able to get through, please leave us a voicemail and our travel consultants will get back to you as soon as possible.
    2. Travel Consultants;
    On receiving your inquiry, one of our travel consultants will be assigned to you and this person will be your main point of contact and guide throughout the planning process. All of our consultants have extensively traveled the continent and have firsthand experience with the services offered. Apart from the continuous training in new services, hotels and routes, all of our consultants are highly trained in customer service and communication skills. We strive for continuous improvement and training in order to provide the best, most customized and personal service out there. Our travel consultants will only contact you from their satoperu.com official company email address or company number.
    3. Completely Customizable packages;
    Even though on our website you will find several sample packages, all of our itineraries and services are customized on the needs and preferences of each individual traveler. Based on the personal preferences we can include the destinations looking for, the hotels of your choice and the style of the trip that suits you best.
    4. The right package;
    Once you worked out the right package with your travel consultant and are happy with the excursions, hotels and other services, we can start the actual booking process. For us to start the bookings and reservations we would need certain information such as passport details, international flight details as well as a deposit payment.
    Your travel consultant will inform you of the details on how to provide this information to us. For the payments we accept credit card payments as well as international wire transfers.
    5. Bookings and reservations;
    Once we have received the necessary information as well as the deposit payment, we will send you a receipt as proof of payment and start confirming all reservations and bookings. These we will have in place (depending on the complexity of the itinerary) in about 5-8 working days. Once all services, flights and hotels have been confirmed we will send you the confirmed itinerary. The confirmed itinerary also includes details such as flight, train and other timings confirmed for your vacation.
    6. Final payment;
    The final balance payment for your trip is due at 60 days before departure. For these payments we also accept both credit card payments as well as international wire transfers. On receiving the final payment we will send you a receipt for this payment. In case the departure for your trip would fall within 60 days your travel representative will provide you with another deposit and balance payment proposal.
    7. Final Travel documents;
    Two weeks before arrival we will send you the Final Travel Document. This document includes all the final details for your upcoming trip such as; pickup times, flight booking codes, local guide and hotel contact details as well as our 24 hour emergency numbers whilst traveling with us.
    8. Actual Vacation
    Throughout your vacation with us you will be provided with 24 hour assistance. You can contact us via the local guides, transfers people, hotels or directly via email or the numbers provided. Our emergency numbers also work with WhatsApp. In case you would have any questions during your trip, any type of emergency or would like us to make restaurant reservations, please do not hesitate to let us know.
    9. Post vacation review;
    Once you have returned from your vacation, we will send you a feedback form where you can leave us a review for the website as well as any comments or suggestions you may have. This is of course voluntary but very much appreciated. The feedback from our travelers is the best tool we have to keep improving our services and operations.

  • Payment Options

    We offer two payment options; credit card payments or payments using an international wire transfer.

    Credit Card;
    For credit card payments we work with Paypal as secure payment portal. This means that you can process the payment yourself without having to pass on any credit card details to us or any third party. Payments with Paypal are instantaneously and should not have any costs for the client (unless your bank has special charges for the use of your credit card – please double check this with your bank). For credit card payments we will send you an invoice via Paypal through which the payment can be processed.
    International Wire Transfers;
    We can also accept payments using international wire transfers to our company account. In this case the costs for the transfer should be wired with shared costs as we can only assume the costs for reception from our end. Your travel consultant will provide you with the account details.

  • Terms & Conditions

    Peru Travels Online, South America Travels Online, Sato Peru and How to travel to Machu Picchu websites are all part of the SATO website family owned by the SATO Group S.A.C. (R.U.C. number (VAT number) 20600603923), hereinafter referred to as SATO and are bound by the following terms and conditions;

    We at SATO aim to provide all our clients with a great service and a memorable experience. We will do everything we can to ensure that this is carried out to the highest standards. Following are the terms and conditions that will apply to your booking, please read these carefully, as on booking your trip you will bound by these. These Terms shall constitute the entire agreement between the company known as SATO and the client relating to the subject matter heir in, and shall constitute a binding agreement between SATO and the client and any passengers involved in the agreement. There is no verbal or written representation, warranty, prior agreement or description of services, other than as expressed herein. The quote that will be given by us will be valid for no longer than 30 days from the date of delivery quote delivery. The 30 day time restriction is due to prices of trains and other services such as hotels that can change due availability as well as possible fluctuations for flights quotes. International and domestic flight quote validity is limited in time by the restrictions that are imposed on us by the airline or airline operator. The client includes yourself and all those named on the booking including minors and persons under a disability of which all will be bound by the terms and conditions stated herein. If you have question on the above or below terms please contact SATO and we will be more than happy to answer any question that you may have.
    TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
    1. Deposit payment and Balance Payment
    SATO will start making all the bookings and payments once the complete deposit payment has been received. The largest part of the deposit payment will be used to make the instantaneous payments to be made such as airline tickets, train tickets and entrance fees. These costs are in most cases nonrefundable or non-transferrable meaning that the deposit payment is also nonrefundable. In exceptional cases (severe illness, act of god, etc…) SATO management will study each case to see if an exception can be made.
    The full balance payment for the services booked with SATO Is due at 60 days before arrival to the point of departure for your services with us. If the departure date would fall within 60 days on the moment of booking SATO will propose other terms of payment. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, SATO reserves the right to cancel your booking and cancellation charges will apply.
    2. Changes to your Booking
    An administration fee of US$200 per person can be charged if a confirmed booking is changed or transferred to a different departure date or tour, up to 60 days prior to departure where such a change is possible / permitted. Thereafter all changes will be treated as cancellations and subject to charges as below. (See Cancellation by you).
    If a client is unable to travel, in circumstances which SATO consider reasonable, then we will attempt to transfer the booking to another suitable person, however the tour arrangements must remain the same and if all suppliers (including airlines) agree to accept the name change without penalty. SATO may not be able to transfer bookings in this way as each individual situation will carry with it different penalties and restrictions. If a transfer is allowed then an administration charge of US$200 per person will be made if the company is notified up to 60 days before departure plus any extra charges and / or penalties levied by our suppliers, thereafter all changes will be treated as cancellations and subject to charges as shown below.
    3. Cancellation by You
    Should the client wish to cancel the tour or any part of the tour (excursions, flights, hotel, accommodations, etc…) cancellation charges will be imposed. These are calculated from the day written notification is received by SATO.
    The charges are shown below:
    60 and more days before departure: retention of deposit. (In addition 100% of fully non-fundable items such as flights and / or service pre-payments will be retained). 59 to 30 days before departure: 75% of total price. (In addition 100% of fully non-fundable items such as flights and / or Galapagos pre-payments will be retained).
    Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of tour cost.
    Saying this we are always willing to try and help you and if possible we can try to be more flexible on the above policy if the situation, our suppliers and service agents permit it. We strongly recommend that full travel insurance is taken, which includes cover, under certain circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation charges. Please note that no reimbursements are given when cancellations occur or for any unused services.
    4. Flight Cancellation Policy:
    Flight Bookings are totally nonrefundable or transferable.
    5. Special Cancellation Conditions:
    Certain accommodation and tour products will apply additional cancellation charges. If applicable you will be informed in your quote.
    6. Amendment Fees:
    Any amendments made to a confirmed booking will incur a fee, bookings of a value up to US$1,000 a fee of US$25, bookings of a value over US$1,000 a fee of US$50. The fees are charged per amendment. This is in addition to any fees that may be levied by the supplier or airline.
    7. Late Booking Fees:
    A late booking fee of US$50.00 can be charged if booking is made within 72 hours prior to departure. This depends on the amount of administration work involved, and if applicable, you will be notified at time of booking.
    8. Change Of Itinerary After Holiday Has Commenced:
    Any alteration or cancellation of services after your holiday has commenced can incur penalties. There is no refund for unused services.
    9. Refunds:
    All refund requests must be in writing specifying the reason for the refund in detail and made direct to SATO Claims must be made within 10 days from the final date of your trip. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather, illness or other circumstances considered “Acts of God”. These may be claimed through your travel insurance. A US$50 processing fee applies to all approved refunds. No refunds will be made for services once travel arrangements have commenced. No guarantee is provided or warranted that any refund will be available.
    10. Reporting of Incidents:
    Any abnormal incidents including injuries, service problems, cancellation of a service or dissatisfaction must be reported to SATO during the event to allow us an opportunity to rectify the situation or provide assistance. If the client has a dispute with SATO which we are unable to resolve then please write to us within 10 days from the final date of your trip and we will investigate further.
    GENERAL
    1. Validity of Rates:
    Prices are valid for the dates indicated in the specific itinerary.
    2. Currency:
    All prices are quoted in American (US) Dollars unless otherwise indicated in the quote.
    3. Children's Rates:
    Child rates may be available depending on the service involved, if there is children travelling SATO needs to be notified before booking. The age of children should comply with the limits on children discounts on the moment of traveling.
    4. Travel Insurance:
    Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all clients whilst on a tour with SATO Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate cover for the full duration of the tour in respect of medical expenses, injury, death, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment. It is not our responsibility to check the validity and cover of your insurance policy.
    5. Accommodation:
    Depending on availability we will try to book the original accommodation as specified in the last proposed itinerary agreed to. In case we cannot provide you with availability for these accommodations we will provide you with accommodations of the same rate, price class and standard as the original accommodations. All rates are subject to change without notice. Not all properties provide instant availability and in these cases SATO checks availability once we receive the booking request. We cannot guarantee the room types requested until the confirmation of accommodations.
    6. Flights:
    The validity of airfare quotes will be communicated on the time of delivery of the airfare quote. The validity of the quote depends on the route, the number of passengers and the overall availability for these airfares. No airfares will be booked without deposit payment for the trip. International and domestic flights are completely nonrefundable or transferable.
    7. Check In / Check Out Times:
    These vary according to hotels. Please keep in mind that in general check in and check out times can change without prior notice. Please note that most properties need copies of your passports on the moment of check in.
    8. Clients Responsibility
    Clients agree to accept the authority and decisions of SATO employees, tour leaders, guides and agents whilst on tour as we only have your best interests and safety in mind. If in the opinion of such persons the health or conduct of a client at any time before or after departure appears likely to endanger the safety, comfort or happy progress of a tour, then the client may be excluded from all or part of the tour.
    In the case of ill health, SATO may make arrangements, as it seems fit and recover the costs there of from the client. If a client commits an illegal act, he/she may be excluded from the tour and SATO shall cease to have responsibility to / for them. If you are affected by a condition, medical or otherwise, that might affect other peoples' enjoyment or active participation of the tour, you must advise us at the time of booking. No refund will be given for any unused services.
    With the somewhat volatile nature of politics in Latin America, our clients should always keep abreast of changes in immigration laws and paperwork requirements as these can change at very short notice. Please contact the relevant authorities when booking and again before traveling to be sure. This is your responsibility, regardless of any advice we may give you in good faith.
    Hotel, service or any other cancellations due to strikes, political turmoil and other "acts of god" cannot be refunded. If possible SATO will try to alter your itinerary or services accordingly.
    All travelers need to carry a valid passport, with the correct minimum validity and any visas that are required by individual countries that you are visiting. Please check carefully for each destination and / or stopovers and / or connections. If your flight transits the USA you should check that your passport meets current US Customs requirements, including those covered under the Visa Waiver Scheme. All passport and visa matters are ultimately the client’s responsibility.
    Copies of your passport data/photo page are required on booking. These are required by many Latin American authorities in order to allow us to make flight, cruise and other reservations in addition to tax reasons. SATO cannot be held responsible for any bookings made with incorrect passport information if not supplied with a clear copy at time of booking. Depending upon your route to and within Latin America, you may require an International Yellow Fever certificate valid for 10 years. We strongly advise to visit your doctor or travel clinic before traveling to discuss any vaccinations required and any issues related to altitude or climate.
    In certain countries you are required to carry identification with you at all times in your luggage or day sack.
    INCLUSIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
    What is excluded and included is defined in the Financial Details Sheet that you can find on the end of the itinerary. Here you can find a list of the items included and excluded in the specific quote. These inclusion and exclusion specifications do only apply to the itinerary the Financial Detail Sheet is attached to.
    SITE COPYRIGHT
    The copyright on all original/custom artwork, maps, navigation elements, presentation methods and design elements included in our web sites is held exclusively by SATO Copyright on all descriptive text is held by SATO Copyright on selected photographic images is also held by SATO Travels SAC or unless otherwise specified. Photographic images are reproduced with the permission of SATO and the product and/or service providers represented on the web site, or as shown where necessary to satisfy the copyright obligations associated with their electronic reproduction.
    Where joint copyright is held over proprietary text or images, SATO reserves the right to pursue all copyright infringements on behalf of the primary copyright holder. Where the copyright for a photographic image is held exclusively by a third party under license, SATO reserves the right to vigorously protect the copyright of those images on behalf of the third party. All HTML, php, css and JavaScript files used in SATO web sites are declared to be proprietary software product developed for use by SATO only, and as such are subject to international intellectual property conventions.
    All custom graphics used are declared to be works of art created for use by SATO only, and as such are subject to international intellectual property conventions.
